Dr. Julie Robinson-Smith is a specialist in orofacial pain and oral medicine, providing expert evaluation and treatment for complex facial pain, TMJ disorders, and neuropathic pain conditions.
Originally from Northern California, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with honors from the University of California, Davis, followed by her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco.
After dental school, Dr. Robinson-Smith served for five years as a general dentist in the United States Air Force. She then completed a two-year residency in Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine at the University of Southern California, where she received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex pain conditions.
Dr. Robinson-Smith is actively involved in advancing her field. She frequently lectures to dentists and presents original research at national meetings. She also serves as an instructor in orofacial pain at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Dental Medicine.
She is a Diplomate of both the American Academy of Oral Medicine and the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. She represents the American Academy of Oral Medicine as a commissioner to the American Dental Association and serves as committee chair for the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. She is also a co-founder of the Women in Oral Medicine Study Group.
